Household Hazardous Waste

Collection Facility

The facility receives the items below from households only at no charge. Sharps (hypodermic needles and blood-testing lancets) are biomedical wastes and must be disposed of at the Flagler County Health Department. You can contact the Health Department at 386-437-7350.

Acceptable Items

  • Aerosol containers
  • All automotive waste fluids and filters
  • All boating and marine supplies, including lubricants, cleaners, oil and fuel filters, and emergency flares
  • All devices containing mercury, such as HID bulbs, thermostats, thermometers, and switches
  • All rechargeable batteries (Ni-MH, Li-Ion, button batteries, Ni-Cad, and both sealed and unsealed lead acid batteries)

Other collectible items include:

  • Acid and alkali material
  • Adhesives, roofing tar, and petroleum-based caulking
  • All types of fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides, fungicides, and rodenticides
  • Epoxies and their catalyst components
  • Oil-based and latex paints and stains
  • Pool maintenance chemicals
  • Solvents, thinners, strippers, and cleaners
