News Release: July 4th Holiday Fireworks & Parade Cancelled

To: Residents & Local Media

From: Larry Newsom, City Manager

Subject: July 4th Holiday Fireworks & Parade Cancelled

Date: May 19, 2020

Traditionally, the City of Flagler Beach holds an annual Independence Day Extravaganza on the 4th of July; which includes a Holiday Parade and Fireworks show. Unfortunately, due to circumstances associated to COVID-19, this year’s events have been cancelled.

The City regrets to announce that, in the best interest of public safety due to the COVID-19 virus, all scheduled Independence Day events in Flagler Beach, Florida for 2020 have been cancelled.

These events, originally scheduled for July 4, 2020, will not be rescheduled this year. The City of Flagler Beach looks forward to next year, when hopefully we can all enjoy a safe and spectacular schedule of Independence Day events on July 4, 2021.

Again, the City of Flagler Beach apologizes for any inconveniences that the cancelling of our events may cause to our community. We look forward to the increased re-opening our City, County and State to pre-COVID conditions and hope that next year’s July 4th events can be held as they’ve been accomplished in previous years.
