🚦 New Pedestrian Safety Signal Activated on A1A
The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) has activated a new Pedestrian Hybrid Beacon (PHB) on Ocean Shore Boulevard (S.R. A1A) at South 3rd Street in Flagler Beach.
This new signal is designed to make crossing safer for pedestrians and to increase driver awareness in this busy area.
👉 How it works:
• The beacon stays off until someone presses the button to cross
• It will flash yellow to alert drivers, then turn solid yellow, followed by solid red—drivers must stop
• It ends with a flashing red, which means drivers may proceed only if the crosswalk is clear
📌 Important: Drivers should stay alert and use caution while everyone gets used to the new signal.
